The designated site comprises six distinct areas of archaeological interest, including the Serpent Mounds site, the Alderville site, the Island Centre site, the East Sugar Island site, the Corral site and an unnamed Site BbG m-22. In 2004, FOSM started helping the Serpent Mound Park staff hold public events until 2009. During that time, we helped with astronomy nights, plant sales, reptile days, and more. We created two unique events on the Solstices – Lighting the Serpent on the Winter Solstice and FOSM’s Summer Solstice Celebration (festival). Serpent Mound is truly a powerful sacred site. I actually feel very humble trying to give voice to it, but I can tell you how it affects me. A serpent is the symbol of mystery, we don’t understand it, we know almost nothing about it.
